Dato’ Robert Teo has been involved in various Business Councils, Chambers of Commerce and Embassies. In 1999 he provided office and manpower support for the operation of the Malaysia-Australia Business Council (MABC). He was subsequently invited to the Board of MABC and is currently Chairman of the Services Sub-Committee. Robert Teo’s firm also provides professional services to Singapore companies referred by IE Singapore which is the Agency of the Singapore Government responsible for promoting foreign investment into Malaysia. Robert has an extensive network with the various Embassies in Kuala Lumpur with whom he keeps up to date on the latest trade issues. In addition, Dato’ Robert has developed close relationships/contacts with senior Government officials, which are useful in resolving problems faced by foreign investors.
Already having served as EUMCCI Board Member, Robert can contribute further by sharing the knowledge gained from his extensive involvement with other Chambers and Business Councils. Dato’s wide knowledge on business and financial matters accumulated from over 30 years of managing RSM RKT Group provides a useful source of information from which EUMCCI can rely on. Robert can also provide general assistance to the other Board members in achieving the objectives of EUMCCI especially in facilitating bi-lateral trade with European countries.
Dato' Robert Teo is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Dato' has thirty years of experience in taxation matters and his main area of specialisation is in corporate tax consultancy work though he does also do work in audit and financial matters. He has also undertaken Special Administrator appointments by Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd for certain public listed companies and is also involved in the restructuring of corporations, some of which are listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.
Dato’ Robert Teo is currently the Chairman and the Managing Partner of the RSM RKT Group, which is a public accounting and business consulting Group (similar to that carried out by firms such as KPMG, PWC) RSM RKT Group is a member of RSM International (headquarters located in London), which is the 6th largest business advisory network in the world with approximately 80 offices in all the major economies, comprising of 33,000 people. He also serves as the Argentier of Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, an ex-officio of the Malaysian Australia Business Council and holds the responsibility of Honorary Treasurer for EUMCCI. He is also the Treasurer General of the Malaysia Gulf Co-operation Countries Business Council.
